Description of the work:
Other names for GRANN BRIJIT: Madmwazèl Brijit, Mama Brijit. Attribute: Goddess of sexuality. Guardian of cemeteries. Main rites: Banda, Bawon, Petro. Favorite colors: white, purple, and black. Grann Brijit is the wife of Bawon Sanmdi, father of the Gedes. She would then be their mother. With her husband and Gede Nibo, she controls the passage between life and death. In the Voodoo Pantheon, she sits with the great judges. She is also an advocate for the living, and they direct their prayers to her when they need advice in cases of disputes and litigation. Like Bawon Sanmdi, her symbol is the cross. However, in cemeteries, adherents do not direct their prayers to Grann Brijit in front of the cross, but next to piles of stones accumulated on old graves. During theomorphosis, her servants lie on the ground, feign death, and speak through their noses.
