The past looks forward, and the future looks backward.

The work reflects the past, the present, and the future. Contrary to what we have learned, the painting reveals that the past is in front of us and the future is behind us, because what we know and see is the past, and the future is blind, unseen because it is unknown.

Metaphor: Life is like a car trip, sitting with our backs to the driver, who is the destination. We are blind to the destination.

As we move forward, we see our starting point, the past, and we see how the present transforms into the past on the sides of the road. On this journey, the future always surprises us.
